Core Concept Computer Services provide a data wiping services for computer hard drives, mobile devices, usb sticks and other media. Senstivite information is erased from all storage devices using CESG Approved Data Erasure Software – to the CESG  Wiping Standard.

We use the “US Department of Defense in the clearing and sanitizing standard DoD 5220.22-M” Method.

To wipe a hard drive means to completely erase the drive of all information. Deleting everything does not wipe a hard drive and formatting does not wipe a hard drive.

When you format a hard drive or delete a partition, you only delete the file system, making the data invisible but not gone. A file recovery program or special hardware can easily recover the information. 

The good news is that when hard drives are wiped, they are almost always reusable within your own organisation. Alternatively, you may wish to donate or resell your IT equipment.
